Giving by the taking of a traditional-style offering is not a regular feature of the Sunday service. Many people who commit themselves to the church give regularly from their bank account via standing order. If you are new to the church, you may find the following documents useful - please return completed forms to the church administrator via the church office, or via a member of the church leadership team.
If you are unable to make a regular offering, we do take a free-will offering at some point during the service on the first Sunday of the month, and this suits some people and their circumstances. You can also give via the church office or by direct bank transfer (sort code 08-92-99, account number 65375660, account name 'Chapel Allerton Baptist Church') - it would be useful to know if you intend to do this, just so we're better able to reconcile our accounts.
Money given to Chapel A is used to pay staff members, to cover the hire of the school, the church office and the running expenses of the church, as well as to pay for clubs and activities in the community, such as Chapel Allerton Youth Project, the Arts Festival and Carols in the Park. All giving to the church is 'tithed' i.e. a percentage is given away by the church to organisations and individuals beyond the church, as agreed by the whole church together.
In the interests of transparency and good practice, ministers of the church are never in a position to know details of individuals' giving, nor are they signatories on the church's accounts.
