We have many children and young people at Chapel A and we place a lot of importance on them and their growing faith. In our Vision Statement we say that
We will welcome, nurture and encourage our children and young people to learn about God and to discover their own faith with us.
We also live in a community that has a lot of children and young people in it and we come into contact with them on a daily basis. We want to share the love of God and His good news with them too, so we are part of the Chapel Allerton Youth Project, along with St Matthew's Church, Chapel Allerton Methodist Church and Stainbeck United Reformed Church
WOW Cell Groups gather young people from school years 8 and up each Wednesday night to think about faith and what it means to follow Jesus. We spend time playing and hanging out, then go into our small groups. Our annual weekend away is always a highlight.
Totally Tuesday is for school years 5 – 7 and involves a fun-packed evening thinking about topics of interest to young people from a faith perspective. We encourage the young people to get involved in leading and having a say about what we get up to. Every year we have a weekend away, which is always a great time together.
Messy Church is a monthly gathering aimed at primary school aged children and their families. We gather, sing songs, share stories, make stuff, get messy and eat food! This is the most recent development within CAYP and the growth of this group has resulted in the appointment of our children and family worker in September ’16.
