All are most welcome at Chapel A and we want to do everything we can to make our gatherings more accessible. Here are some things you may need to know, however if you would like more detail please contact our leadership team at leaders@chapela.org.uk and somebody will be in touch to discuss your specific needs. Alternatively an easy-read summary is available here.
Things to be aware of:
There is ramped access to the front door of the Methodist Centre.
There is an internal lift from the ground floor to the first floor where the meetings are held. This is situated within the small coffee lounge on the ground floor. The Welcome Team will be happy to show you where this is and help you to operate it. There is a small (20mm) lip at the base of the lift on one side.
There are 3 internal flights of stairs leading up to the main hall.
There is a standard disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Unfortunately there is no hearing loop in the building.
We display the songs and any teaching material via a projector on a screen. The font and background colours are chosen with dyslexia in mind. We can forward the content directly to you via e-mail or whatsapp at the service to enable you to access it on your own device.
The children’s groups take place in various rooms on the ground floor and our young adults meet in the basement. The basement is accessed via a flight of stairs and no lift is available however the children’s and young adults' rooms can be used interchangeably to accommodate participants’ needs.
During the initial part of the service, we have a range of "fidget toys" out in the main hall for anyone to use.
Please do contact us on leaders@chapela.org.uk for further information, we’d love to hear from you.
